This week's guest on REPORT FROM SANTA FE is Doug Preston, New York Times best-selling author of seventeen popular techno thriller and horror novels, among them “Relic,” “Reliquary,” “Gideon's Sword,” and “The Ice Limit.” He has also written several nonfiction books including “Cities of Gold: A Journey Across the American Southwest in Pursuit of Coronado” and “The Monster of Florence.” As author of numerous best-selling books, Douglas Preston is well known for providing readers with captivating adventures. Some of these tales, like “Relic”(which was later made into a motion picture), have been written with co-author Lincoln Child. Their novels “Relic” and “The Cabinet of Curiosities” were chosen by readers in a National Public Radio (NPR) poll as being among the one hundred greatest thrillers ever written. Mr. Preston has worked for the Museum of Natural Historyand has served as Co-President of International Thriller Writers. Along with his novels, he continues to write for such publications as the New Yorker, Smithsonian, and National Geographic.
