The New Mexico Museum of Art in Santa Fe will be the only New Mexico venue for First Folio! The Book that Gave Us Shakespeare on tour from the Folger Shakespeare Library. This is a national traveling exhibition of an original edition of one of the world’s most famous and treasured books, Mr. William Shakespeare’s Comedies, Histories, & Tragedies, better known as the First Folio. This is one of the most valuable books in the world, and is often referred to as “the most important work in the English language.”

First Folio Opening Night is Friday, February 5, from 5:30 -7:30 p.m. at the New Mexico Museum of Art in Santa Fe, and is on exhibit from February 5 through 28.

Drs. Williams and Bundesen detail the many events surrounding the First Folio exhibit, which include classical theater performances of Shakespeare's “Hamlet” and “The Winter's Tale,” public lectures with international Shakespeare scholars, concerts, films, world class theater training, and readings. There will be lots of fun events including a Comic Book Shakespeare workshop, a Treasure Hunt in downtown Santa Fe, a Valentine's Day extravaganza inspired by Shakespeare, and more!
